It's Kind of our thing.

In Vermont, there are important rules for installing residential oil tanks to keep homeowners and business owners safe, and to protect the environment. Tanks are required to be constructed from materials that resist corrosion and leaks, often requiring double-walled designs or extra containment measures. Proper installation is key, which means placing tanks securely on stable foundations and following manufacturer guidelines. Regular inspections are a must to check for leaks and corrosion, and to ensure all safety devices are working properly. Spill prevention measures, like overfill protection and immediate response plans, help prevent environmental damage. Installers must be licensed and certified, so they know the latest safety standards and best practices. These regulations help prevent environmental contamination, ensure public safety, promote efficient energy use, and maintain accountability. Following these rules can save homeowners from expensive repairs and environmental cleanup, keeping their heating oil supply safe and efficient.

The furnace broke during the night.  Called The Oil Boys.  He was already out on a call, said he’d be here right after that one.  A few hours later he was here, had the furnace up and running in under 2 hours.  Excellent job, prompt service, couldn’t ask for more.  Thank you!

Start with a visual inspection, and look for signs of rust and discoloration. Be sure to check the supports on the tank as well as the tank itself.

Find the fill line on the tank and look for signs of leaks. Call an HVAC the if you suspect a leak.

Continue to the feed lines on the tank and do the same kind of inspection. Contact an experienced technician if you suspect the feed lines are leaking.

Check the vent lines for signs of clogging. Household pests like bees and spiders like to build nests in these lines. If you do not inspect them now, you may not know there is a problem until it's too late.

Use your nose to sniff for problems. Unusual odors could mean the tank is leaking.

Give the tank a final inspection before you use it for the first time. Be sure to have the tank filled before the cold weather sets in.

Last but certainly not least, it is important to put safety first whenever you work with your furnace or HVAC system. If you have any doubts about your ability to inspect and maintain the tank, do not hesitate to call a professional technician.

The Oil Boys are fully equipped and ready to perform your oil tank replacement and guarantee it will pass inspection following New Hampshire and Vermont state laws. This allows you to have peace of mind for many years to come!
